JayAre #1 Posted February 19, 2018 Hi, everyone. Have any of you ever found any of these Atari game catalogs (pictured below) in any sealed game? I never have, and I've only managed to find the first two loose, but not the last two. These catalogs are somewhat scarce, especially the last two. I've even thought that maybe the last two weren't even included with any 2600 games, since they also featured games from Atari's other consoles, but I'm not sure about this. If you've found any of these before, would you know which catalog was found with which game(s)? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. gauauu #2 Posted February 20, 2018 We got the first one in some game when I was a kid, but I can't remember what game. The last one I also remembering seeing as a kid, I think it probably came with Joust or Crystal Castles. That said, I'm just trying to remember from my childhood and could be completely wrong. JayAre #3 Posted February 20, 2018 Hey, Gauauu, thanks for the information. Well, the first two catalogs on the left have 1982 copyright years, while the third is from 1984, and the last one from 1987. From what I'm seeing online, Joust was re-released in 1986, and Crystal Castles had three separate re-releases (1986, 1987 & 1988). Based on this, it seems like Crystal Castles' 1987 release matches up with that last catalog, so maybe that's the game. Thanks again for the help. I know it's tough remembering that far back. 7800 2 #5 Posted February 24, 2018 I"ve been looking for the third one.Was it even in a game? The 7800 is in it. If it was it had to have been in a game released after June 1984 when the 7800 was revealed. http://www.randomterrain.com/atari-2600-memories-history-1984.html It is an Atari Inc catalog so it had to have before Atari Corp formed.According to this page there were only two Atari games released after the 7800 reveal, Stargate and Gremlins. I have never seen a sealed 1984 release of ether game never mind a boxed version on Ebay.
+TrekMD #6 Posted February 24, 2018 I think I have the one with Ms Pac-Man on the cover. I'd need to check.
Arenafoot #7 Posted May 12, 2018 I got a couple of the first one (green) from a show called "The New Orleans Home & Garden Show" in the Rivergate back in '81 or '82. I still have them, they have a dealer rubber stamp stamped inside them too. Only difference is my two green catalogs do not have that "Colorful Poster Inside" in the upper right corner (its just green).

+Random Terrain #9 Posted May 13, 2018 I wonder if any YouTube unboxing videos would show the catalog?
JayAre #10 Posted May 13, 2018 The third one came with the original release of millipede. Still have mine complete. Thanks so much for the info. From what I'm seeing online, the original 1984 release of Millipede is fairly scarce. But at least now I'm pointed in the right direction. Thanks again. I wonder if any YouTube unboxing videos would show the catalog? Duane, that's a great idea. I hadn't thought of that. I'll definitely take a look on YouTube for unboxing videos of any of those games that were released right around the time of these catalogs. Thanks for the suggestion.
Supergun #11 Posted May 13, 2018 The fourth one I remember clearly getting back in Christmas 1986 / early 1987 inside several 2600 & 7800 games that I bought. The third one Im not sure at the moment. And the first two, never. I chased them down over the years after finding out they existed, but I never got them inside any game I bought,

atari181 #16 Posted May 17, 2018 I just opened a sealed 1984 Millipede and this is the catalog that was inside. I guess not all of them have the one you are looking for.
JayAre #17 Posted May 18, 2018 I just opened a sealed 1984 Millipede and this is the catalog that was inside. I guess not all of them have the one you are looking for. Very nice of you to open your sealed copy to check for the catalog; I really appreciate that. Boy, you're right, it looks like not all the copies of a game may have the same catalog. Maybe, at times, Atari would run out of the game catalog currently in use and would start using older, left-over ones. Thanks again for the help.
