That seems to be one of your most common criticisms and frustrations, i.e., people spending money. Spending around $1000 for three machines is not that bad if you want to outfit one of your rooms as a pseudo-arcade.

he spent $1500 on 4 machines.

I'm not criticizing it. I'm merely making jest at the fact that it's a lot of money being spent.

Thanks for the replies on pre-orders guys. I canceled mine from Gamestop today. I had first pre-ordered an Atari Deluxe from Best Buy and canceled that in favor of the Centipede from Gamestop. I did that Sept. 5th.

I never got an email from GS telling me it was delayed but decided to contact them and see what's up. They don't know is the best answer I got so I decided to just cancel and get my money back. I had pre-paid for it in full. I had to jump through hoops to get it cancelled by going to my local store but in the end I walked out with money in hand.

My main reason for cancelling is I'm going to wait and try for a Space Invaders or Pac Man when/if they become available. Possibly a Galaga if Walmart has any for sale down the road.

Completely understand - mine are all pre-orders, so no money has changed hands and I can always cancel if I choose.

I hope at least the Rampage and Galaga show up so I can put them through their paces and see if they're worth the money, pure crap, or somewhere in between.

I prefer to reserve judgement until they're in my hands. I've also got a junior gamer (10) who can help me put them through their paces, and I'm hoping to have some non-gamers over as well for some sessions.

I'm not a "collector" of anything. I buy games that I like to play, and if they are bananas expensive then I emulate or don't play them. It's not a lack money. I make great money, live in a nice house on a large plot of land in one of the most affluent towns in Massachusetts. I just prioritize spending differently. I don't see the point of overspending to have "rare" things unless you really like that thing and it's useful. I don't preorder anything. I don't ever pay more than original retail for used items. I prefer to spend money on life experiences rather than commercial goods. Edited by John Stamos Mullet

I used to work in Downtown Seattle when there were all sorts of boutique independent coffee shops that did things like make pictures in your latte (usually a leaf) Eventually all were either bought out or forced away by Starbucks but the point is between all the cappuccinos and lattes and whatever, of course it was good coffee and we all got used to it. Fast forward to today.. my coffee of choice if I go out to buy one? Yep.. plain old drip from Dunkin' baby!.. w/ cream and sugar. It can be mediocre (like the really SHITTY Dunkin Donuts at the Narita airport in Japan). But when they're on.. they're on. Nice roasty flavor. :)

Dunkin' isn't bad at home either, we get pretty close to store bought going with their whole bean (as fresh as possible), filtered water, and a Breville YouBrew (now called the The Grind Control™ for some reason).

Whatever we don't use right away goes strait into a sealed glass container, but we go through it pretty quick.

You put Dunkin' coffee in a Breville?

I'm not trying to personally attack you - 128kbro. honestly.

You seem like a good dude with your heart in the right place.

But I just can't help but make fun of Dunkin, since I come from Dunkinville. Every time I see a Dunkin cup, I get visioins of the SNL episode with Casey Affleck:

No worries man, you're from MA and I had family there for years so it's all good.

Dunkin' is down the block (hell, it's down every block) so I'm sure convenience has been a big influence.

That SNL skit is too funny, and eerily I can see some of myself in Affleck's character portrayal.

Maybe I need a Dunkin' detox or something...just no Starbucks, please. That stuff tastes like water run through dirt.

Galaga moved to October as well.

OK, so now all my cab orders moved to October (Rampage was the last holdout; now 10/16 as well), so here's to hoping these things actually make it to market this year.

Neither one of those place serves decent coffee.

Some of the stuff Starbucks serves is ok, as like a dessert coffee, but not great. Dunkin is generic Airport/Bus Station coffee.

I typically make my own coffee at home, with beans bought at The Fresh Market.
