+swlovinist
I did not see a Timex subgroup(pretty niche), but wanted to post here. I have recently dug out my computers and wanted to know if there were any upgrades for these available(devices made to play games), etc. I did not know if there was ever an aftermarket emulator cart made for the 2068 so that it could play zx spectrum games. Thanks!
JamesD
Check the world of spectrum website. There's also a yahoo group but it hasn't been active in a while.

carlsson
Are you looking for something like the Universal Memory Cartridge Board (UMCB)? I'm not experienced in that part of the community, but it seems to exist for sale. http://8bit.yarek.pl/interface/ts.cartridge/ http://yarek.com/basket/?h=umcb Apart from previous threads here on AtariAge, Bill posted an article 12 years ago. Obviously that is a lot of time, so perhaps Yarek is out of business but it is worth checking. http://www.armchairarcade.com/neo/node/
Compumater
Dude, you are in luck. There is a add-on for the zx-81 and Timex/Sinclair 1000 called the ZXpand. With out getting to far into it, it has an SD port and a menu operated OS. Plug it into your zx, and wow! I have every .P file ever uploaded to the net on a 32meg SD card and all of them are instant load. No more custom cables to load wav files from your PC, or worse yet hooking up the old tape deck. Its freaking GREAT! It also has a 9 pin joystick port, optional sound board, and I understand the latest units may come with a com port. Its a few $$ but I've had my for 6 years now and love it. It makes the timex 1000 a totally fun computer again.
BassGuitari
No more custom cables to load wav files from your PC, or worse yet hooking up the old tape deck. What's "custom" about a 3.5mm phono cord? Also, you have it backwards: tapes are awesome! [/purist] Still though, the ZXpand kicks serious ass. It's really the only peripheral for the TS1000 you'll ever need.

Flojomojo
Uh...why? Context, bitch! "I feel nostalgia, curiosity, disgust, and wonder" not just disgust! It's complicated, I know, but MONOCHROME ALL CAPS UNJUSTIFIED TEXT IS HARD TO READ IN 2018
BassGuitari
Context, bitch! "I feel nostalgia, curiosity, disgust, and wonder" not just disgust! No, I got that...just wondered how "disgust" got mixed in with three other things that have generally positive connotations. That's some spicy emotional soup you've got there. factus10
So, there's this forum if you're into the 1000/ZX81: https://sinclairzxworld.com/ Sometimes there's talk about the 2068 there. There's a Yahoo Groups 2068 group that is active in bursts. The Spectrum ROM cartridge will pop up on eBay every so often. There's someone who's making new ones. Another thing to keep your eye out for is a twister board/Spectrum ROM. It will give you a Spectrum edge connector. With that, you can use any of the newer Spectrum storage devices. I have the Interface 1bis (https://sites.google.com/site/interface1bis/) and it works great with my 2068 and twister board.
