new 2600 collector

Recommended Posts

I know Mike Matei of Cinemassacre fame is close to a complete set, but I believe it is only NTSC and no label variants....

I am just watching Mike now on lubetube and an Atari 2600 Live Stream he did recently. He was asked the question if he had the entire 2600 library and stated he was short less than 10 carts.

Even if its NTSC only and no label variants ... that impressive. Sorry for the hijack! ;) Nothing to see here. Move along! :P

Welcome to Atari collecting! Remember to have fun with it. I too am working on building up a collection. I think a complete collection is basically impossible, given the extreme rarity of the most-rare carts, but my plan has been to get somewhere in the 470 range with at least one cart of every unique game released that is rarity 8 and below. That seems potentially do-able?

You are at a particularly fun stage in that you can buy bulk lots and build up your collection quickly.
