Describe a game with one simple sentence

I was trying out Fortnite, which is like a cartoony PUBG. I understand the appeal of these "battle royale" games (also try Rules of Survival on mobile), but like with MOBAs, I lack the interest/obsession to play them enough to get much out of them. They're like Goat Simulator to me -- "run around in the giant world and try to do some crazy stuff."

So I wonder if I'm just done with new games, they're silly. Then I remember how classic games are the same kind of concept pitch, and how I've felt this way before, when games turned into "run to the right and punch all the dudes."

The original bad explanation was for PONG: "avoid missing ball for score." Others?

Shoot the rocks, avoid being hit (asteroids)
Shoot the robots, run away, avoid walls (berserk)
Shoot all of the things (Galaga et al)

Then there are things that are just too "deep" (or obtuse), like Yars Revenge
