Gold sticker on Raiders of the Lost Ark boxes

Hey, everyone. On some of the Raiders of the Lost Ark box covers, there's a round, gold sticker with the Atari logo and name on it. Does anyone have any information regarding these stickers, specifically when they were used? Could these have been the very first boxes to have left the factory when the game was released? Hey, Wiz. I got the picture online. I just took a closer look, and this was an eBay listing, and all six of the boxes in the case had the sticker.

It is probably from a South American seller. I noticed these a few months ago and almost purchased one. I got control of my need for every minor variant and passed.

On eBay, a few of these boxes with the stickers have been sold out of Venezuela. You mentioned that they're probably from South American sellers; is there a specific reason why copies from there would have the sticker? I did notice one U.S. seller on eBay that also had these boxes. Thanks.

Seems odd to cover up your brand name with a sticker with the same name, shiny or not. Ah well, if it's from South America, I hope the manual was well translated. That game is unplayably obtuse without it.

maybe it was some QA thing to flag that it had been repacked with an appropriate manual
