Most of the time I don't bother reading the manual, preferring to dive right in. Consequently, my scores are terrible - which isn't to say that I didn't make my own fun.

Red Sea Crossing: 7000

Wasn't quite sure what the point was, so I just imagined I was Charlton Heston in The Ten Commandments.

DeathTrap: 2204

Didn't really understand the game, so I pretended I was Charlton Heston in Midway.

Wabbit: 445

I kinda' just stood in the middle firing at random as if I were Charlton Heston in The Omega Man.

Rabbit Transit: 16440

This game is pretty fun, once you get the hang of it. But eventually it gets to be too fast, and you die.

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter! So, after a few weeks off, I am back for this week's games.

Here's my scores:

Red Sea Crossing: 21,200

Death Trap: 10,424

Wabbit: 575

Rabbit Transit: 31,101

Red Sea Crossing was my favorite of the games, and the only one I had ever actually played before (but only in Stella). Since it has the lore of being the rarest and most expensive 2600 game, I had downloaded it before to try it out. I liked how the colors kept changing, making it feel like you were actually getting somewhere instead of looping through the same screens, much like the trees in Pitfall. I also thought it was interesting that the "lives counter" was simply the right digit in the score.

Death Trap seemed pretty silly at first, but if you try to hit the guns in a way that places the moving shields close together, it helps.

Wabbit is on my list of absolute worst 2600 games. It is pretty pointless, you just end up focusing on the lower 2 rows since you can't even hit anything else anyway. The difficulty ramps up way too quickly.

Rabbit Transit is a fun little game. I found that the best way to get past the colored platform screens was to force the angry old cussing dude to drop his diamond in the center, where there are only 3 platforms. Just keep going back and forth in between diamonds, clearing both sides, and then finish in the middle. Much easier that way.

This one makes me wish they'd adopted the Q*Bert tilted controller config. Many's the time I sent my rabbit hurtling into the face of danger when I was sure I pushed the opposite direction. Like it, though, much to my surprise. That tune, though ... that tune ...

All you have to do is rotate your joystick 45°. :ponder:
