Custom cases for projects (Like the 1088XEL)? www.protocase.com

So, I was bored and looking around for random things on youtube and found this video;

 

 

Besides being ridiculous and hilarious, he brought out something great. Protocases, which is a company that will machine custom cases for things.

 

I think this would look amazing on the 1088XEL. I did a search on the forums and didn't see any mention of it, but I could see me going with these guys for a few things...

Very interesting design, but the whole water cooling aspect was not the best execution in my opinion with the hoses hanging out of the case. However if that particular aspect was left out, the case design is very nice and well executed .

 

I have heard of Protocase, and even downloaded their app several years ago, but found it prohibitive ($$$) to actual create an entire custom case with it. So that's why I turned to using a pre-existing mass produced case, and just added a couple of Front Panel Express custom panels instead. It is possible to create an entire case within the Front Panel Designer app, but that approach would also get rather expensive as well.

 

For future reference, a topic was started to cover custom cases for the 1088XEL, the ÉclaireXL, and one other project that are all Mini-ITX form factor motherboards (link).

Ha, to be fair, the PS4's normal cooling solution is atrociously loud. Everytime I play Bloodborne, it makes me thonk a bombing raid siren was just triggered.

 

I was sure on the pricing of the cases, was just imagining a case that looked like an old 800 custom made to fit the 1088 would be epic!

 

I need to order mine before it is too late, if life would stip getting in the way.....
