Multiplayer games in multiple computers

I could not get a list.. also which device/hardware is used for the communication?.

I was thinking in some kind of battleship game or racing game.

Regarding multiplayer games for multiple computers, two things come to mind:

a) Modem Games: see subject 8.11

b) Gamelink/Multilink (networking) Games: see subject 8.12
