AtGames 2018 speculation thread

I found this when looking up info for Atgames Blast!

https://www.atgames.net/blast

Good detective work! That was actually just an internal test page from quite a while back and most of that info is out of date (we'll pull it down so there's no confusion). We should have official announcements soon with the latest info, product names, and game lists, so no worries there.

Okay, I was wondering why things seemed a little odd. I'm looking forward to hearing about the full details on this new range of products! It sounds very promising!

I noticed it but I do not want to delude myself ...

I hear ya... don't want to jump to conclusions, but if they actually got permission to include the BD 2600 port... wow!

21. Burnin’ Rubber (US name: Bump N Jump)

54. Gyruss

65. Lock ‘n Chase

Can you spill the beans now, Bill? :)

One question I'm sure we'd love to see confirmation on is if the Atari product runs Stella and what emulator is powering the Sega product.

Another one I'm personally curious about is how the game list will vary between the Flashback 9 and the Gold Edition (Not that it will matter this year with the SD slot), along with any other possible differences other than the obvious with the joystick (Wired versus wireless).

Hopefully the 85 games don't include those d-bag Bonus games, and instead include regular Genesis or Master System titles.

The new Sega Megadrive Flashback HD, 2018-2019 edition, will include 14 Bonus games. The previous 2017 edition included 19 Bonus games.

I don't think those are AtGames products. Isn't the handheld the same as what Europe got a while back?

And I wonder how Judge Dredd is appearing on here. Did AtGames actually seek it out for some reason, or some coincidence made securing the rights a trivial matter?

The SNES version was a decent game. I haven't seriously played it since the late 1990's, but I enjoyed it and remember finishing it. But I can't imagine many people will think to themselves that they just have to buy a Sega Genesis Flashback when they see it on the game list.

I was really hoping they would update the emulation and remove the bonus games. I just don't get it. Every review for the past 9 years or whatever has panned it on the bonus games and they still leave them in...

Nice. I like the Megadrive version in high resolution (320 x 224p).

HUH Interesting, the 'Sega and Sega Genesis' system. It has SMS/GG games on there, and damn good ones at that too. That just caught my interest. Where's the handheld?! And less filler titles too which nice, less corn in the poop for the (troll) fans of atgames stuff. ;)

I think the confusion here is valid on that other Atari with the stick from Blazeretro. Blaze actually parroted ATGames for years in the EU/UK region as they repackaged and sold the same handhelds that we got in the US from ATGames. The Sega Retro Wiki like site covers all that stuff fairly well with photographs to back up the different region distributors and packing.
