Vcs games were meant to be played with a stick, not a pad ! Pads are bad !

I am sorry to say that, but any joysticks based on micro switches are absolutely useless for home playing because of the noise they produce.

i play exclusively with mswitch joysticks and disagree with your sentiments. they are not silent but provide excellent tactile feedback. any real ms joystick in any sturdy box or enclosure performs lightyears better than janky 30-year-old crinkley 2600 sticks...

I'll disagree as well. All the best joysticks I own and use are microswitched sticks. A Sanwa JLF is pure precision joy in stick form.

With Best Electronics replacement PCB, CX40 joystick produce an enjoyable clicky sound too ... though not as loud as microswitch based joysticks. Tactile and audible feedback are great.
