+Spaced Cowboy
I always have to scroll to the bottom, select 'use full site' and then scroll all the way back to the top. Mobile screens are pretty darn high-res these days, I'm not sure it's useful to have a different/simpler layout for them... Schitti
i also prefer the "Full Version" view. Maybe the button can be positioned at the top of the page, someday.
roland p
I also prefer the full version. It 'forgets' my preference after a while. Maybe the expiration date for the cookie can be set to something longer?
Albert
I don't know if there's an easy way to fix this on mobile so that the desktop forum skin comes up by default. However, the new forum software we'll be running soon does away with the mobile skin and instead uses a "responsive" skin. This means you'll be using the same skin on desktop, tablet and mobile devices, and the skin will adapt itself based on the device you're browsing with. You'll have the same functionality and interface, it'll just be laid out a bit different on narrower screens. And this will be true for all skins, which is nice as well. ..AL

S1500
I've never used the mobile site since the navigation, etc is completely different than what I'm used to, being the desktop site.
Flojomojo
TouchArcade just updated and it's beautiful on mobile. Looking forward to the AA update. Along with the front page redesign, we’ve also migrated away from our ancient version of vBulletin to a shiny new install of Xenforo, which much like the front page is totally responsive and works great across all screen sizes. We’ve spent the weekend migrating data to the new site, so everything should be there and all existing logins should seamlessly work. On the surface level, using Xenforo is very similar to VBulletin, so there shouldn’t be much of a learning curve to hop back in to our forum community. Albert
TouchArcade just updated and it's beautiful on mobile. Looking forward to the AA update. I've seen many sites move from vBulletin to XenForo. XenForo was started by developers who left vBulletin, unhappy with the direction development was headed after the company was purchased by Internet Brands some time ago. XenForo is nice and I've looked at it, but not something I'd seriously consider migrating to at this time. ..Al
Flojomojo
You do what works for you ...I wasn't trying to suggest one platform over another. TA was down all weekend and this migration has been planned for a long time. They seem to have integrated their AppShopper database into it as well. It's nice to have a responsive modern design, which I'm sure will come with the AA upgrade.
Albert
Yes, the updated forum uses responsive skins and does away with the (poor) mobile skin. Should be a much better experience on phones and tablets. . I’m looking forward to getting the forum upgraded. I’ve been working on some other areas of the site that need code changes before I can upgrade the forum. I’ll be spending a lot of time this week doing that. Once complete, I can then start the work on upgrading the forum. ..Al
+wongojack
I actually prefer the mobile skin when browsing on my phone. The new update sounds like it will please both sides of this debate.
