Atari 5200 mod: RCA jacks for A/V out. How to?

Recommended Posts

Our Atari 5200 Composite Video modification is $75.00 + shipping.  This modification adds three colored RCA jacks to the rear accessory port door.  From these connectors you can connect your 5200 console directly to your television composite input.  Both audio channels are utilized providing balanced split/mono audio output.  Rock solid color registration, balance and image stability are the benefits of the composite video mod.  Plus, now you're not limited by the length of the 5200 RF game cable.  If you want your Atari 5200 in a more convenient location but have been limited by cable length, this mod will solve your problem.

That would be nice, but I'm not crazy about shelling out $75.00 to do it. Has anyone done this themselves? How difficult is it?

I did the s-video mod, which was about a four hour job. It only gets difficult if you're not familiar with electronics and soldering.

Any website that tells how to do this mod?

It's in the 5200 FAQ.
