+OLD CS1
I am going to be quite a bit more grumpy about it. I have grown accustomed to having an office available to me outside the home office and today I had to tear down a new server/NAS cluster which was just about ready to deploy (but not quite) and bring it home in my trunk to where I have no space for it.

+InsaneMultitasker
Houston mayor just ordered closure of bars, sit-down restaurants, etc. Seems to me this will panic people to going to the store and other places, where there will be even more contact than sitting at a table to eat food. Not to mention the financial ripple. Egads.

Grocery stores are stripped and having trouble restocking to the point where the 24hr grocery store is now closed for 8 hrs a day. That bit me tonight when I went just to get some more soda

This alternative is also back-ordered. We got one a long time ago. https://www.amazon.com/Luxe-Bidet-Neo-320-Non-Electric/dp/B00JG3NVG2/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=bidet&qid=1584456988&sr=8-3 I went to Costco on Friday. Quite orderly. For the first 45 minutes anyone could get 1 TP. It ran out. Tons of food though - filled up my whole freezer. HEB grocery stores now close at 8pm for restocking. We love HEB in Texas. Stock up on Tylenol, Guaifenesin, cold relief. You may be caring for your neighbors, loved ones, or yourself.

+9640News
In Kentucky, bars and restaurants closed except for drive thru and home delivery. Day cares to close Friday unless they are taking care of children of health care workers. Schools closed for 3 weeks, Kentucky Derby moved to August, courts are extending driver license extensions by 3 months, and I am sure I am leaving out other good things. I got a decent supply of TP after being warned about 2 weeks ago there would be a shortage. Not sure in the truth, but was told a lot of TP is made in China. I would not have thought that since the US has a decent supply of trees for paper products. Maybe we ship pulp to them and they ship us back TP. The local casino with all of its shops, restuarants, and hotel have been closed for 2+ weeks. I don't see it opening until they lift the governor's orders regarding bars and restaurants. Supplies of lots of over the counter medicines are gone. I was able to get milk at WallyMart Friday. Nice thing here, milk is about $0.67/gallon and has been that way for over a year. Fuel prices are starting to drop, but diesel not so quickly. I still think my idea of selling bags of corn cobs in the TP aisle along with corn-cob dispensers is a viable market. Sure would help some farmers in the corn belt. As far as food, I have enough food in three freezers and a refrigerator to get me by for at least 3 months. None of us speak in this forum any differently than we do in person, and that includes Beery's statement which was one of observation and no more political than many other posts over which you have not made an ordeal. If someone reported his post, which I assume must be the case as I do not recall you popping in these parts, I would appreciate a PM on the matter. For that matter, if you felt so compelled to hide his post, you should have 86ed mine as well as I laid the seed.

Gas has finally come down to $3.00 where I live, which means gas is only slightly more expensive than milk!
+InsaneMultitasker
Wife and I played a few rounds of the Pandemic board game a month or so ago. I was putting things away, including a few jigsaw puzzles, and came across the game box. It induced an earie feeling given what is going on in the world... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pandemic_(board_game)

I don't want to play a game that reminds me of the craziness going on in the world...

+mizapf
I just stumbled over a headline stating that lots of people needed ventilators due to the coronavirus. But I just got caught by a false friend: In German, a "Ventilator" is what is called "fan" in English. I mean, I have several venti.... em ... fans at home. (Latin: venti-lator = "wind bringer", so either meaning could be justified)
