For our English speaking friends, glühwein is probably better known as 'mulled wine'.

Never had it, but the idea of warm wine is not an intuitive concept for me. Yuck was my first reaction, but I'd like to keep an open mind  Perhaps Yens Eike or Berry can bring some to the Faire!

The wine is also heavily spiced, a good chance to get rid of some otherwise less drinkable stuff. It's only popular in winter. Just imagine snow under your shoes, you are starting to freeze, and a hot cup of wine in your numb hands. Well, and after some cups you'll indeed get serious talking problems.

We have the same wine in the UK. It's called mulled wine. It's an aquired taste ;-)

I was in a shop today and the had Christmas decorations out. Really pissed me off.

I may have to track down a couple of bottles of Glühwein to drag to Chicago. . .the Class VI or the Base Exchange usually has it. It is a very good thing to have on a cold day. . .

I hear rumor that they are considering closing the BX/PXs or the commissary as cost-cutting measures. Figure they would hit the Class VI or shoppettes, first. What is the word on the ground?

That has been bouncing around--but then they figured out that it would cost them more to do that than they would save, as they'd have to keep the overseas ones open--and the US stores subsidize the overseas stores with their sales. . .

I feel a little contrarily on a few topics around these parts, so I though I would throw out a confession -- an admission, of sorts. Perhaps a revelation?

I... uh... actually rather enjoy Zero Zap.

I decided to try this out after reading this :) and while I don't think it is the best TI game ever, I do find it rather enjoyable :)

I still use composite on my TI :P

Wanted to get F18A this week but the old lady wanted a new phone :(

That reminds me, I've had a partial blog entry sitting for a month on that device and have not yet gotten around to finishing it.

Maybe next weekend! :P

I order a non-prescription drug online once a month. It's sent Fedex from a location about 50 miles from me. Here's the stupid part - the Fedex shipment goes to a destination about 1000 miles away, and then they mail it to me. Duh! Why can't they just mail it to me, save on shipping (their cost), and I get it in a day or 2 instead of a week. GRRRRRR!!!!!

There may be some limitation on what USPS will handle or carry, the liability for the package if damaged or lost, and that the USPS tracking system suuuuuuuucks.

But Fedex sends it 1000 miles just to give it to USPS to send it 1000 miles back to finally get to me! Wouldn't the liability be less just having USPS do the 50 mile delivery in the first place?

Actually THE WOZ wrote the program and made the hardware that really did more for home computers then both of these guys.

By the way UNIX was around long before C was invented and converted to C.
