0078265317 #1 Posted May 5, 2018 https://www.theverge.com/2014/9/10/6130973/safe-care-homework-first-nintendo-lock. Just saw this. Never knew this existed. Its real. Several other articles. Also there was one on ebay a while back. I am surprised he even sold any. Did anybody have one BITD.
pacman000 #2 Posted May 5, 2018 Wouldn't that let dust into the cartridge slot? My parents would just take my Game Boy away whenever they decided I was playing too much. I couldn't hook up the Atari by myself, & it's switch box was burnt out for years anyways.
F34R #3 Posted May 5, 2018 My parents took my NES when I got a bad grade for not turning in a lot of homework lol. That was back in 89. I think I get it back next year. lmao.
mbd30 #4 Posted May 5, 2018 The toploader finally freed children from this device.
Flojomojo #5 Posted May 5, 2018 I remember this thing, as well as the marketing for it. I hate everyone associated with it, no matter how well-meaning: the manufacturers, the sellers, the customers. It's a fscking chastity belt for a game console. If you're gonna parent through threat of game deprivation, just take it away, don't be a knob and put a padlock on it.
pacman000 #6 Posted May 5, 2018 I take it this was for temporary restraint. The kids weren't grounded; they just needed to do their homework before playing. A lock may have been easier than hooking up the NES every day.
Flojomojo #7 Posted May 5, 2018 Why not just shackle the child, instead?
0078265317 #8 Posted May 5, 2018 Why not just shackle the child, instead? Because you dont want him calling cps. Or goto jail for doing so.
godslabrat #9 Posted May 5, 2018 Just take away the ac adaptor. It's one part that doesn't even need a screwdriver to install.
