AMenard #1 Posted May 22, 2018 Hi, Since I'm off from work this week, I spent a good deal of time lurking here and on other retro computing forum and when I'm doing nothing with my hands I tend to think too much :-) Has anybody ever thought of building a kind of clone/similar of the 1090? An expansion box with slots of some kind (maybe controlled by a rPI) that hobbyist could use as the backbone for new hardware project? Kind of like a mini TI PEB. P.s.: speaking of the 1090, wasn't there something similar for the original 800?
+Allan #2 Posted May 22, 2018 Somebody already is. Look through the 8-bit section and you will find it. Allan

Not only that, but the goal is to be cross-platform too, so parallel-bus cards could work on different 8-bit architectures (with appropriate software drivers). I'm also planning on having SIO card capabilities, and even a joystick interface, although currently that's just for the 1088XEL since it makes them available by jumpers. I'll have to think of whether we want to run flying leads from SIO and Joystick to the attaches-to-the-standard-machine interface. Of course, I have to declare an interest, as the guy doing it
