Scratched GameCube game help please

Hey guys my friend Carla s Son is autistic and his smash Brothers melee for the GameCube got scratched and hes really upset. What is her best bet to get the scratch out to make it playable again ?

I know it sounds silly, but toothpaste has worked for me in a pinch... rub it in with a rag and then rinse with water.

We're assuming it's scratched on the bottom... it's not scratched on the label side, is it?

Gamestop sells a disc skip fixing fluid that you can apply with a soft cloth or cotton round. I've had good luck with it over the years.

 

Before you try anything, put the disc over a strong light source- if you can see through it anywhere, then the data has been removed & it's not fixable. Which would suck, but at least you'd know to buy a new one.
