Cool finds and Jr. Pac Man goodness

Recommended Posts

God bless my wife: She found a ton of cool stuff for me at our local videogame shop while I was at work the last few days. Among other things she got me a lot of cool 7800 games including Rampage, Super Huey, Super Skateboarding, Tomcat, Hat Trick, Desert Falcon, Dark Chambers, Mario Brothers, Crossbow, Winter Games and Impossible Mission.

For the 2600 she scored Millipede (w/box and instructions, and a perfect copy of Star Raiders in box with all paperwork and the keypad controller. Other games included California Games, Millipede, Jungle Hunt, Mr. Do, Carnival, Midnight Magic, Moon Patrol, Dark Cavern and Jr. Pac Man.

Most of these games had instructions, which was cool.

I love my wife.

But I've also found that I love Jr. Pac Man. I never would have guessed that a Pac Man game could be so fun on the old 2600. She also picked up a Suncom Tac-2 joystick, so the game is a joy to play.

I still suck at this game (I think I've cleared the first maze once with all four ghosts...But damn is it fun!

Anyone else surprised by this game the first time they played it?

Oh yeah. I scored a copy at Gamers not expecting much (I was flabbergasted they'd even attempt to port it) and was blown away by the fact it was at least as good as Ms. Pac-Man. If they'd have slowed down the monsters to a more palateable speed, I'd rank it even higher.

The 2600 monsters are the same speed as the arcade.  The problem is that YOU slowed down.  With age!  hahahahahhahahaha!

(ducking and running)

Yep, the arcade game is HARD!! I've owned it four about six years and I still haven't cleared the seventh board!

Yes, all of these cool games for him, and I'm just about done collecting my RPGs on the PSX! :_(

Must find more cool games to collect... must find more games since I traded a bunch of mine to get games for hubby...

I guess I'd rather get sent to the used game store than be stuck doing domestic stuff. Never was into that. It cut into my gaming time too much!

Seventh board on 2600 Jr. would be exceptional...the monsters won't roam maze sections off the screen (unless coming out of the box). This has got to be something simple in the program

The monsters may be the same speed (I dunno), but the game is certianly harder.
