Finding the perfect Black & Silver HDMI Monitor for the F18A MK2

Recommended Posts

I'm getting the feeling that many of us might be in the market to 'update' our TI's in the coming months. ;)

With this in mind, I'm wondering what might be considered 'a contender' for one of the best BLACK & SILVER HDMI monitors or TV's at a reasonable price that many of us might consider?

Individually we all have the ability to find a 'good' monitor, but what if we individually overlook/miss that 'perfect one'? As a group we just might find that 'perfect one', maybe at a great price too. As monitors go, physical size for location can be an issue for many of us, but with multiple people posting 'their pick' it might also be the perfect solution for someone else too.

So....you up for a group scavenger hunt?

Any HDMI-capable TV at 720p will be black, around $100, and a little can of silver spray paint (WITNESS ME!) and voila!

I never thought of it but mine already is kind of "TI ready". Silverish and black. It has a DVI input, but that's easy to fix with an HDMI to DVI cable.

Coincidentally it's from another Texas company. The monitor is a DELL 1908FP.

I've pondered adding a decent set of speakers to the TI, but considering the "era quality" of the audio, I've never gone through with it. As far as I know, there is no plugin replacement for the TI (yet) that replaces the 9919 sound chip with all the original's coding and a set of extended features like the F18A does for video. If that ever happens, I'll be a +1, but not a peep towards that end has been spoken.

Music that is using periodic noise for bass notes, e.g. Flying Shark, sounds much better on a decent set of speakers.
