Mr.FoodMonster #1 Posted June 6, 2003 i was wondering why whenver i see like a single or 2 atari joysticks on ebay they always have about 15 bids and are at about $20, why is this? are the real original ones rare or are people just really really stupid? if they are rare i think i should sell some, i have like 4 of them and obviously can only use 2 at a time... sku_u #2 Posted June 6, 2003 2600 joysticks are almost as common as Combat carts in the thrift stores I used to frequent and are usually between $2 and $5 depending on the shop. I've never bought one that doesn't work, so these joysticks are pretty durable IMO.

ATARIPITBULL #4 Posted June 6, 2003 I just collect any atari 2600 joystick that comes in a box that I don't all ready have, but thats it.
acelkin #5 Posted June 6, 2003 I've paid as much as $2.00 all the way down to .49 cents for loose standard Atari 2600 Joysticks. I've maxed out at $16 plus shipping for a NIB stock controller.
tom2600 #6 Posted June 6, 2003 Since you all seem to have extra joysticks, I'd be willing to take 2 off your hands. I just hooked up a 7800 a week ago but I dont really care for the ProLine joystick. So if anyone has a couple of 2600 joysticks to sell please PM me.
Godzilla #7 Posted June 6, 2003 Well, I can tell you, from all my ARMIES of 2600 sticks, controllers with intact orange that dont look chewed on ARE pretty rare these days. to paraphrase the real-estate people 'CONDITION-CONDITION-CONDITION'

Atari Rescue Group #9 Posted June 7, 2003 I am amazed at what regular joystick pairs go for too. I saw the above auction and noticed that the seller has another auction (below) that uses the same photo. I wonder if the ones shipped to the buyers look like them. Here's the other auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=3027654048
