Games Retrospect
I'm trying to get some Xbox 360 games I missed from back in the day. I recently found out that someone near my house was selling a bunch of 360 games, but they are all PAL games and I have no experience with those. My questions are: 1) is the Xbox 360 region free or does it depend on the console revision/game 2) is there a difference in price when it comes to PAL games? 3) And this one's just out of curiosity: do you guys have PAL games in your collections or do you mostly stick to NTSC games? Thanks and I'm looking forward to know more about this.
Atariboy
All depends on the game. I own one PAL game for the Xbox 360. The first four World Rally Championship releases from Milestone never saw domestic Xbox 360 releases. But WRC 2 was region free on the Xbox 360 in Europe, allowing me to import it. The other three were region locked, so I had to import WRC 1 for the PS3 while 3 & 4 actually saw retail PS3 releases in North America. Is there a list where I can check individual games to see if they will work on my console or not?
Atariboy
I've never seen one, sorry. You're going to have to research on a game specific basis for region free PAL 360 games I suspect. I've only ever heard of two region free PAL games on the system, so I don't believe it's common. The other one I've ever read about (But which I can't personally confirm is region free in this case) was Ubisoft Xbox Live Hits Collection. It's a Xbox Live Arcade compilation featuring Beyond Good & Evil HD, Outland, and From Dust. I considered mporting that one, but Beyond Good & Evil HD was on sale for about $2 digitally a year or so ago, so I have no need now. DJ Clae
The 360 has three regions. Whether or not they're enforced depends on the game. That's why I still own a US system and an Asia system. Back in the day, Play Asia used to keep a decent compatibility list. A list can now be found here: http://gaming.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_region-free_Xbox_360_video_games
