Having a faulty connect in a single key can lead to a missing row in the matrix. I've found this so annoying that I'm considering a project to create something I dub the 'reBKey A400' utilizing the original keycaps . I have it drawn in CAD, and have yet to mill the PCB.....so hold onto that dead BKey (or maybe sell?). BTW....if anybody should happen to read this, I'm looking for a "1 key' that is missing on my BKey. Anybody? Count me in for at least one board. cornchip
I should apologize for potentially hijacking this thread. Perhaps in the future, I could ask that requests not be made here in this thread. I promise I will create a new thread if and when I have something to offer. You're tempting me, @ClausB... Where would those wires need to go either end?
ClausB
RD4 and RD5 are only available on the cart port in the 400, so they would go from there to the RAM slot. A14 and A15 are on the CPU slot and at the decoder chip on the motherboard. I am not aware of any commercial upgrade which uses these 4 wires, however. The most RAM you could get with those 4 wires is 52K. To get more, you need more wires on the motherboard, and more circuitry on the RAM board.
+Peter Rabitt
I finally found time to take photos of my 400 with a Mosaic 64k upgrade... I have the front, back and the "jumpers" to the bottom of the mother board. It is a "real" mosaic board,I think. Because it is I should have the paper work for it somewhere... I am still looking for 2-3 boxes in the garage from 35 or so years ago.. In them I hope the paper work is their. I found a couple of news letters. OK here are the Photos: If any others are needed I can take them... Pic.1 back of mosaic pcb Pic 2 Close up of memory chips and the Mosaic name. Pic 3 back of the mother board. and Pic 4 should have been first front of the PCB. Peter
