Commando Cart Won't Click

Bought a commando cart this weekend. I tried to play it today, but it doesn't want to stay connected to the console unless I hold it in place. It'll start up fine with my hand on it, but as soon as I let go of the cartridge it stops working; the screen goes dark or has vertical lines on it like the cart was pulled out. Any way to fix this? Anyone else had this happen?

Sounds like something's going on with the cart guides... like they're not fitting inside the cartridge port correctly.

 

I'd check to be sure nothing is obstructing those two slots in the port and check to see that both guides are intact. If they're broken, and move freely inside the cart, might just be that they're not doing their job of opening the cartridge port at insertion.

Cart guides = 2 plastic prongs in each cart, right? If so they're ok; they're part of the case & don't move.

 

Other carts work fine. Could it still be a problem with the cart port?
