Level42 #1 Posted August 6, 2018 (edited) Two questions: 1)So I've been running my RGB Sophia for a while now but I wondered if I could also still hook up the original S-video (Y/C) signals from the original monitor port ? When I try to hook it up I can only get a black and white picture, so the Luminance is there, but not the chroma ? Is it something I messed up on my mother board or is this normal Sophia behavior ? 2) Has the firmware for the RGB Sophia ever been upgraded ? If so what are the changes ? Could I go back to the one I have on my Sophia now ? How so I know which version is currently on my Sophia ? Where do I find the latest version for RGB ?Mmm...looks like that was a bit more than 2 questions..... Edited August 6, 2018 by Level42
Frankie #2 Posted August 6, 2018 Did you have correct color video from the monitor port before you installed Sophia? Most 800XL/1200XL don't have chroma wired to the monitor port. You have to fix that yourself. Frank
+mytek #3 Posted August 6, 2018 Sophia should not interfere with normal video which is still being generated by the GTIA. Sounds like there is something either wrong with your GTIA, or something not quite right on your mother board.
Level42 #4 Posted August 6, 2018 (edited) must be my mobo then....I did a mod to the video output, separating chroma and luma completely (at the cost of loosing composite output, but who needs that .....maybe I did more work on it, I remember I wanted to add stereo sound to the 5 pin ....I'll have to remove the mono from my machine and have a good look...thanks for the conformation that it should still work. massiverobot #5 Posted August 7, 2018 I would love to get any sort of background info on the Sophia board for my Missing Manual doc. There isn't much posted about it and there is no external website that I can find that talks about it, why it was made etc.
