mark #1 Posted June 9, 2003 I was at a flea market today and seen all common 1 carts. The guy wanted around $10 a cart That is just f%#[email protected]^* crazy! I hope he didn't sell any. I hate when carts are overpriced, especially at junk related places. Anyone here came across crazy prices like this? Isn't it annoying?
MegaManFan #2 Posted June 9, 2003 It seems to be the norm these days, as opposed to the exception. Just ask SS about the crazy guy who owns the thrift where he lives.

Brad2600 #4 Posted June 9, 2003 I was at flea market yesterday and they were selling a boxed 5200 with good controllers and a couple of common games for $50. The woman comes from FLA every year with video games. Also had some overpriced NES and Genesis games...$5 for common NES games and $5 for common Genesis/SNES games. Eh well. I was broke. If she ever holds another flea market, I'll keep an eye out for the boxed 5200.
jetset #5 Posted June 9, 2003 I found a thrift store last weekend that wanted $5 for 5200 Galaxian. I asked him if he was also selling dope or just smoking it. He didn't answer.
+Allan #6 Posted June 9, 2003 To make you all feel better, today I FINALLY had a chance to hit a fleamarket near my house and found two different people selling NES carts. Both people were charging a buck a piece. I'm not into Nintendo but it's nice to know some people are charging fare prices. Allan
Pixellated Ghost #7 Posted June 9, 2003 I just get a good laugh out of it when I see obscene prices on stuff like this. I'll have to remember the "sell dope" response, might have to try that next time I run across this. besides Atari I collect old tube stuff as well, and run across the same thing a lot in that department. It's amazing when you're after old stuff just how many people think they struck gold. There's a "bargain barn" store on one of my routes to work that I refer to as "expensive barn," as it seems they really don't want to let the stuff they have go cheaply. +Allan #8 Posted June 9, 2003 There use to be a music store near where I grew up that sold instruments at ridiculis prices. My friends, who were in a band, never could figure out how they stayed in business. They had the same stuff forever. My friends used to joke about it being a front to sell drugs. It must have been there for a good eight years until they finally closed. Allan

If she ever holds another flea market, I'll keep an eye out for the boxed 5200. Too bad $50 is a fair price for a 5200. It would probably cost you $20 to get it shipped from ebay. I wanted one for ages but wouldn't pay the high shipping to Canada but I lucked out and found a local guy with one for $30 US amazing considering the 5200 is very rare in Canada. ussexplorer #11 Posted June 10, 2003 When I moved to this new city with tons more people I expected something better. What I got was the same as before. Overpriced items, pay before you enter the door, and the same group of sellers in both towns. If you live in Idaho you understand the Boise, Nampa Idaho thing. Nampa Idaho is about 13 miles from Boise. As for the pawn shop. Their was a pawn shop I picked up a camera from. My wife didn't like going in their because he smelled of pot. He was also hauled off a few times. He did have good rates on most of his eletronic stuff. That is the reason why I picked up the camera. $150.00 with lenses compaired to just $130.00 for the same camera without lenses. Later, Josh
Shannon #12 Posted June 10, 2003 Ran into one guy selling intellivision carts (loose) at $5 bucks a piece. I can see some (assuming he had any rares) maybe, but I just passed on that one.
