PAL VBXE in US to HDMI

Recommended Posts

Can some one give me a link to a cheaper SCART adapter for the VBXE 800xl i am getting from scotland?

I would like to get either an scart to VGA or SCART to HDMI either one is fine.. i would prefer VGA cause thats the monitor near the bed.. but I have a bigger tv in the other side of the room with HDMI...

I just want to order this so i can get it running when the 800xl gets here from scotland next week..

does any of the walmart ones work so i can just run up to walmart and get one or one from ebay with quick shipping?

the hdmi on the other side of the room supports PAL composite so i guess ill go scart to HDMI or SCART to VGA on that.. it has both.. the videocord coming with the computer is a RGB SCART

Does you TV have VGA (DE15) ? I've got one of the arcade video converter boards for around 25 bucks and it does the job pretty well.

Realistically if you convert the video from VBXE to something inferior first like composite or S-Video then to HDMI, it'll look a whole lot worse than just going to VGA.

ok so vga is the reasonable expectation then.. so i will need to go from vxbe output which is rgb/scart to cga to vga using one of those arcade converter boards on ebay?'

do u have a link to a good board that goes from rgb (or the din 9 that the vxbe outputs from to vga?

i believe this vxbe has a din 9..

i havent gotten it in the mail yet from bob but once it gets in i will know for certain what output this vxbe has.

Using the cable from eBay gives you 15 kHz VGA. You need an upscaler after that for most monitors.

depends on your monitor, and the polish guys have a switch on theirs to go from 15 to 31 or whatever it is...

my atari sc and nec multisyncs do 15 no problems

find them polish fellows who make them for the dreamcast etc... send a message for a custom cable... or

make your own wire with a china small pcb scaler / freq doubler

I don't think VBXE has a default? Mine's an early V2 and AFAIK the latest ones are still a case of make your own output plug arrangements.

The converter boards go by various names and I imagine there's a mix of quality ones and cheap clones.

But mine's a GBS 8200 - that search term alone should bring up plenty.

Also try CGA/EGA to VGA and similar.

Expect to pay around 20-35 bucks.
