Alex.Pace
Hello to all. I own an unique Super Cobra cartridge with PROTOTYPE manual (for colecovision), bought by error. Instructions and cartridge are in excellent conditions. This game comes from a large collection of a gentleman who wrote reviews for video game magazines in the 1980's. If anyone is interested contact me privately. Alessandro Pace Edited September 2, 2018 by Alex.Pace
TPR
Is this a "prototype" or a "review copy?" And based on your description, it looks like this may be a review copy, which would have just been the final ROM given out to magazines to review with a hand-made instruction booklet. I used to send these out all the time in my NES and Gameboy days to reviewers. Did you notice any difference in the ROM from the final release? Just curious. It's a cool item, for sure, but it may not be an actual "prototype" just a copy of the final game.
NIAD
Sounds like a "Lab Loaner" or "Review Copy".... pretty much one in the same. I doubt that it is a prototype, but the only way to know for sure would be to play or dump it and compare code with the actual release. Would be interesting to find out one way or the other and to see if it works on an ADAM Computer because Parker Bros.' commercial release of the game will not.
