lonesome_pa #1 Posted June 10, 2003 Some help please. I bid on an auction and was out-bid at the last minute. A few days later, the seller sent me a second chance offer. I used the buy-it-now on that, completed checkout and the seller e-mailed me the total. This morning I get an e-mail from him saying "Oops, I messed up, the high-bidder did come thru for this item, so it's been sold. Sorry for the confusion." Now, I have bought a second chance auction that isn't "available" anymore because the seller screwed-up. Now what do I do? Leave negative?? Report the seller?? I haven't paid yet, but this is wrong. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
moycon #2 Posted June 10, 2003 I'd personally let it go. Usually when I buy stuff on eBay, it's just hobbie stuff, magazines, games, figures. Nothing where if I didnt have it , my life would radically change. Sure you could waste the time and expend the energy to make life a little difficult for the seller to "get him back" but seriously, don't you think there's a dozen other things you could be doing??? He made a bad call and got yer hopes up, and then disappointed you.... not the end of the world. Just my point of view.
lonesome_pa #3 Posted June 10, 2003 Oh, I know. Understand, I don't want to go in "guns ablazing" but I was never in this circumstance before and wasn't sure how to handle it.
Rick Weis #4 Posted June 10, 2003 i've had it happen to me a couple of times. i just blow it off! i think it happens when a buyer pays by money order then of course waits a couple of weeks before they send it! and don't inform the seller anything about payment! the seller and buyer are lucky you did not pay for it by pay pal and the seller shipped it the same day, the seller would be in a very bad spot then. Take care, Rick
Brad2600 #5 Posted June 10, 2003 Communication is the key. Lack of communication leads to problems like this. Then, people start leaving negative feedback and calling each other names. It never ends. COMMUNICATION!
