tane
Gracias, me hai hecho el dia feliz. It worked on Atari800 but not in Altirra (Error: 12 at line 0). What about to use extended memory to make the game with more levels? (130XE). Edited September 22, 2018 by tane

Mclaneinc
Are the above xex's any different from the final? If you then what are they, the homepage looks only a little changed for the longplay.. Just about to go out hence the questions Cheers Paul..
tane
The v1 and 'beta' have different rooms. You can make a CRC (hash verification) to identify each file.
devwebcl
Beta has 13 rooms. Final version has 72. I have been playing it and has a lot of interesting rooms.
Mclaneinc
Thank you both...I didn't have tome to use the wonderful Duplicate File Detective on them at that point...Just did it after I saw your posts..The extra details were handy, all I knew was that one was different at that point Cheers... Who does not love a Monty's Cheers Paul..
Atari Nut
Is the V1 version the final version...or is there a final version somewhere else?
Atari Nut
I circled around a few times and spider and skull became motionless in this room... I left the room and returned, and they were gone. Then I was not able to go any further. I didn't have any keys left and the were locked doors that I couldn't pass. Mr.Amiga500
Time ago there was demo for Montezuma Hack providing new levels. Now there is a final version: https://montemaker.blogspot.com/ More details, screenshots and file in the link. This is totally frigging awesome! This is exactly the kind of thing I've wanted for years. I didn't want a "remake" with newer graphics, or a side-scrolling version or "Montezuma Junior" or crap like that - I just wanted the same Montezuma, same graphics, same timing - just more levels. It's one of my all-time favourite games and one of the few Atari games I still feel like playing. (along with Blue Max... anybody want to make new missions? ) One minor point: there are a few rooms in this "Montezuma 2" that are just too hard and frustrating. I'm an expert at Montezuma's Revenge, able to do multiple levels without dying once (I've even looped the points counter!), and yet there's a room here where I died 30 times in a row and just can't pass it. The levels should be challenging, of course, but there's a point where it stops being challenging and starts becoming infuriating. Otherwise, nice work! _The Doctor__
yep saw the freezing issue, and the impossible screen the other fellow mentioned might be due to game speed being faster on our systems of here.. needs a tweak

Hi Pepe, we're trying to play this in the High Score Club but need a version with the standard (6?) lives. Thanks. [EDIT - We have this now, thank you guys.] Interestingly - When I was just trying a quick sector hack to locate where the lives wre the original PB Montezuma Revenge ver (I thought had done this years ago successfully), In frustration I changed a bunch of other numbers to see if any were it, and when I loaded up (and when collecting things) I get another tune, (well I think so!) so the question is - can anyone remember if there is other music in the game (at the end perhaps, or possibly tune data for others not used)? I'm hoping this is an amazing discovery but probably not EDIT - "NOT" Ok it seems to be the same as the extra man tune, one of the bytes must be a pointer to them Edited March 30, 2020 by therealbountybob
