up for sale is a Dell percision M65 "mobile workstation" from 2006

it features

despite being 12 years old it looks almost new, there are a lot of marks on the underside of the unit, otherwise only a couple light scratches in the lid, very little key wear and no blemishes on the screen

being 12 years old you can toast marshmallows on the power brick, strip paint with the heat coming from the exhaust fan and the battery is not long for this world. I have been running bench marks on it for the past 24 hours in a hot ass garage and it has not glitched yet so the heat is just how a laptop from this era would have been

currently has MX linux installed on it (a great debian (which is what ubuntu is using) based distro for older hardware) with its features functioning fine. it does have a windows XP pro COA sticker on the bottom and claims to be vista compatible so running something like windows 7 32 bit should be possible

so if you need a close to new looking super cheap large and kind of heavy laptop this may be for you, though a modern netbook would outrun it ... its got ports, its got a big screen and keyboard ... and its cheap

and even though they brag about 64 bit cpu's the base model in this machine is in fact a 32 bit only chip
