No. The XM is required for (POKEY) sound when the aforementioned chip is not present in the cartridge. Under the arrangement, as stipulated in the OP, the buyer is providing a POKEY chip to be included in the cartridge. POKEY chip not included in the cartridge new Donkey Kong port = Donkey Kong XM.
