Good Morning, Good Evening & Good Afternoon!

Its my Birthday next week and as I am now obsessed with https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCH4A1gfZKj3SWBBKz9-wqjw/videosIve decided to treat myself to my first homebrew game (obviously from here on AtariAge).

Are there any solid gold homebrew games that people would recommend for a first title?

I love pretty much all games with the exception of possibly sports games.

The only constraints are that the title needs to be PAL.

Please feel free to post up suggestions or join the chat at https://twitter.com/Cx40H.

First home brew purchase will be made on the 27th Sept!

Cheers All

It really depends on your taste. Do you prefer shootings, maze games, puzzles, adventure/explorations?

Fortunately we have great games from every genre, so I guess you should first pick what you enjoy the most.

If I was to pick my favorite genre id probably say classic arcade style shooters.

That's probably my new favorite 2600 channel on youtube as well. Love Zeropage. As for your question, my answer will be a broken record but I gotta go with Draconian.

Does PAL 60 run in the UK, I think were PAL 50 as standard?

If it will it will be a hard deciesion between your suggestion and this: https://atariage.com/store/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1106

It's my understanding that as long as you're using a television that will display a 60Hz signal, it should look fine when using a PAL 2600.

Since you have a supercharger, there's a simple way to find out if your TV supports PAL60: load a NTSC game in the supercharger and see if your TV can display it.

Since your Atari is PAL, the result will be a PAL60 Signal. The colors will be wrong, because the palette in PAL and NTSC 2600 consoles are different, but homebrew games labeled as "PAL60" have the colors adjusted to match PAL palette. (In fact, that's the only difference with the NTSC version)
