bfollowell #1 Posted October 16, 2018 I do not have my ST handy at the moment and I'm hoping someone here may be able to save me a trip. Which floppy drive is most likely used in a typical Atari 1040STF? The single-sided 360K drive or the double-sided 720K drive? Thanks.

bfollowell #3 Posted October 19, 2018 100% 720k. Early STf ones had large slanted eject buttons Thanks. I think mine has the large slanted button, but I'm not 100% certain. If I recall correctly though, I believe it was having issues and I was going to look into replacing the drive. That large button was going to cause me issues though, because, while I want to restore the computer and get everything running well, I refuse to modify the case like many of the newer drives require. I may have to get creative. I've ordered an LCD monitor that will let me use all three resolutions and, since my desk has a keyboard tray, I have plenty of space on my desk for the ST and the monitor. I can't wait to get this baby out of the attic and onto my desk!
oky2000 #4 Posted October 20, 2018 Atari described it as 1mb memory and 1mb disk drive (unformatted) to all who cared to cover the launch in early 1986, along with a nice sepia toned picture of the Mona Lisa for some reason. Was quite a thing back then just as 64k for the C64 was in 1982, I guess he hoped for the same effect.
