Love all of the firmware updates and additional features. There are two things left I really want to see and seem like they would be easy on the surface.

- When you press the Menu button, an option to disable border art. I know you can simply not include the images but it would be nice to toggle since some games look nicer with bezel art.

The big one for me though - Allow manual input of WiFi connections. Some of us hide our SSIDs and the ALU is the only device I own where I cannot manually enter my WiFi settings. At the bottom of the list, could an option be added to manually input the SSID and then the password?

I put in a request not too long ago for this very thing, since I too find some game borders, especially on certain console games, too distracting.

For the wifi requests, please send all such requests to arcadeideas@atgames.net for proper registration internally. Thanks.

I only briefly looked at the list, but are all the Atari games removed from the Gamer?

This is the Legends Gamer/Gamer Pro game list: http://afz.atgames.net/afz/assets/LegendsGamerGamelist.pdf

The focus on this one is Taito games (and they play great - I'm particularly pleased being able to play Zoo Keeper again with arcade controls). Again, the built-in game list is not as important as it is on other products because you can add/play more games in so many other ways. We tried not to duplicate too much from the Legends Ultimate 1.0, but frankly there are only so many games out there to select from, so there will continue to be duplication going forward across the various products (except for the full-size pinball machine, of course).

By the way, besides CoinOPSx, for those who missed it, we just added pAOX, which is a way to play Visual Pinball tables on the Legends arcade series products (to start, four tables are included with permission).

Frustrated... I'd intended on ordering the Legend Gamer Pro from my reservation, but spaced on the deadline and now it's gone.  I guess this just means I'll be able to wait and see how it's reviewed now then order a later batch.

You might be able to squeak in today if you send a message with your details to support@atgames.net. It's a good idea to try so you don't miss out on the bonuses.

How do you use BYOG on the legends gamer pro. Do you need arcade net to load games off thumb drive. I keep getting no addon files not found error.

There are actually quite a few options. I recommend you ask on the fan page on Facebook for guidance on what you're looking for. It's a great community with lots of experienced people.

Who is playing our beloved A8 ROMs on this beast?  The other ROMs are great, but I'm only really interested in the Atari 8-bit games.  What is the process of packaging the games for use via an SD card like?

There are quite a few 2600 games as well as arcade versions of Atari games that come included in the current 300 games offered with the Legends Ultimate.  However, I find it hard to play the 2600 Tempest when I can play the arcade version just as easily - and using the spinner control as originally intended.

Otherwise, it is also possible to play 5200 games and 7800 games.  Using an emulation core I found for the 5200, I have played Astrochase, H.E.R.O., Miner 2049er, and Montezuma's Revenge.  Also Tower Toppler for the 7800 (using a different emulation core).  For the process, see below.

To me the simplest way is an Addon tool which has been provided to package a game's "data files" along with the emulator core required and optional box art and border art.  The Addon tool is a Windows application.  Using that route does not require an arcade net account.  The required files and some generated scripts are packed by the application into a .uce file (in fact a squashfs filesystem file for Linux) which is then placed on a USB stick.  Plug the USB stick in the system's front USB port and the game can be selected and played from the "AddOn" selection under BYOG.  The tool is straightforward to use once you have the needed files.  I found out about it and other useful links by searching "legends ultimate addon" on YouTube.

The emulation cores have to be found by searching the internet, however some of the YouTube instructional videos have helpful links.  So far, I have not found a way to play Atari 800 games.  That is distressing, because I would really like to play "Tail of Beta Lyrae" on there!  BTW, I was able to play Captain Beeble by locating a version of it (via an AtariAge post) which had been converted to 5200.

The last thing I would add is that IMHO the Legends Ultimate is a great product.   You get very nice "near Arcade" quality controls which make the game playing experience for arcade classics really good.  There are a few QC type issues being reported (Monoprice has a pixel perfect Guarantee on inexpensive monitors - AtGames should consult with them), but looking past that I don't think you can touch the value you get with this thing for a similar unit.   BTW, if you compare the Gamer Version (just the control deck part, which hooks to your TV) to the "Pandora's Box Fight Stick" type products you can get from Aliexpress, the price is also very reasonable.  With those Pandora's Box products you probably have no option to play some old school 8 bit Atari games.  ?  I am pretty happy with AtGames recent products!  I also bought their Legends Flashback product a while back, and also have had a good experience with it.  Additional games can also be added via an SD card in that very inexpensive product.  Again, super value!

bill,

do you know what the roadmap for arcadenet is this year.

i'm planning on buying the legends core, but i really want to play the Atari arcade games on them.

i know i can add them myself. but being able to buy all the atari vault 1,2,3 games would be perfect.

i am only interested in those games, and online leaderboards, which is the reason i would get it.

currently out of the 100 on there, i'm not interested in those ones.

They may or may not be added to ArcadeNet Standard. As of now, that's not planned as far as I know, so the only way to play the Atari games officially on the Legends Arcade Platform not through BYOG is by getting a Legends Ultimate. It all comes down to licensing right and form factors. We have the rights on full-size home arcades.

well, bill, if you can talk about the stand up arcade mini, maybe that will

have more games on it.

Nope, nothing I can talk about yet other than it having a unique feature above and beyond any other product like it on the market that he failed thus far to guess at.

Lots of 'collections' showing up on ebay.  MAME, obviously.  The console collections include Atari 2600, 7800, and Lynx.  Not much love for the 5200/A8.  That said, I bought my Atari 400 to play arcade games.  The weakness of the better home consoles has always been the controllers.  The Legends Ultimate Arcade plays the actual arcade games with excellent controllers.  Not sure I *need* to emulate an Atari A8 on the LUA.

Anyone seen/built a USB stick of A8 games for the LUA?
