Now includes 17 screens and use the 2 playerscores minikernel instead the 6lives in order to show the lives AND the current level/screen.

I have changed some sprites and the mechanics for some screens (bigger bullets, slower movement in the eye screen...)

 

Still I have no harmony cart or similar, so I look for testers.

Hi again.

A couple of days ago I started a new project, It have no name yet, but I have coded the game mechanics and some screens.

I will posting updates in this thread.

 

 

****** UPDATE ********

 

I have completed the 12 first screens and I am releasing the first testing rom. I don't have an harmony cart, so it has only tested in Stella.

I would really appreciate if somebody could test it in actual hardware.

 

I still have to work on better title and game over screens and I plan to add more rooms.

 

And I am open to suggestion and criticism

Fort Apocalypse is one of my inspiration, yes. But also has a little of Caverns of Mars... and a lot of my previous game Knight Guy :p

Have a lot of common with both games and really love it! That spider is just amazing.

 

Thanks, and yes it has a lot in common will all those "Don't touch anything, everything will kill you" style of game.

 "Don't touch anything, everything will kill you", you should call this game "Australia", it has a big spider anyway!

I really like this. Is a .bin file available?

 

Not yet. I have 7 screens coded, when I reach at least 10 I will release a playable demo bin. My goal is 28 screens as in my previous game.

I like the new "flashlight" level where only a circle around you is lit, which is an effect I know from the game "Fear of the Dark" from [member='MemberAtarian'].

Little correction: Last night I shared a version with only 11 screens instead of the 12 that I announced.

Now I have added a correct 12 screens version to the originial post.

I wasn't aware about that game, it looks great and that TIA rendition of the iron maiden's song is really cool!.

Very cool game so far. One thing I would suggest adding is a time-based bonus for completing each room.

 

That's a great idea!, I added a new rom to the original post that includes it.

If you are making a tribute to Fort Apocalypse then you may have a stage with "plexar was here".

or at least to mention Plexar :)

I am not making the game as a tribute or port of any especific game. It has obvious similarities with Fort Apocalypse, but I get inspiration from various sources, including platformers as Megaman
