Faulty reset switch

Recommended Posts

No function on the switch. Ive replaced C3 1uF to a 10uF. The manual operation is fine, but there is no reset triggered when activating the switch. I welcome all input on diagnosing this problem.

Did you test the switch for continuity with a multimeter? A broken trace would be the likely problem.

I'll get the meter on it this evening. This is SPST, correct? Doesn't the reset switch tie directly to the reset line on the Z80 ?

It is a momentary switch. I would assume it connects a signal to ground (the signal is probably the reset line on the Z80 or another chip). You could first connect a paperclip or something to the two leads on the board to see it it resets.

It is just a simple 2 sided board with no layers, so you can just follow the traces on the bottom and top of the board to see where it connects.
