I actually made a comment about this in another WTB thread in this forum. It was explained to me that it was happening because people have book marks in place for it and since the re-organization of the forums, those old bookmarks lead to the for sale forum instead now.

Back on topic I might be convinced to part with my spare Starplex for the 2600...it isn't in great shape though as the vinyl on it is peeling badly from one corner. I assume years spent in someone's hot attic caused the vinyl to shrink and pull up from the plastic base as it really won't even sit properly around the buttons etc at this point. I got it that way so it wasn't my hot attic or storage unit that caused it.

I come to this sub-forum to see what is for sale and/or trade. I don't come to this sub-forum to see what people are looking for.

I think that the description listed for the Buy, Sell, Trade forum is held over from before as that is almost the same word for word description as the previous Marketplace forum where the selling activity was typically held. The old Marketplace description was:

 

Please use these forums as a tool to buy, sell, and trade, as well as point out (and advertise your own) eBay auctions

And within that forum were the sub forums for Auctions and Wanted. Now that BST and Wanted are at the same level of the hierarchy, I honestly interpreted that to mean that in BST, sellers would post items for sale, others would respond to them to buy those items or trade for them. While in Wanted, buyers would posts items or lists of items they were searching for. I made the assumption that since the Wanted section has always been separated that it is the designated area for posts exactly like this one.

 

I prefer it separated because it lets me quickly see items for sale and allows those selling items to be confident that their post is more likely to be seen by a potential buyer.

well that's cool, that makes sense too. to each their own I suppose -- seems more convenient to me to follow one channel but that's just me and however it goes I'm sure I'll still love it!

I went ahead and moved this into the "Wanted" section, along with a few other "WTB" threads that I found.

 

For whatever it's worth, to clarify the forum titles: if you want to buy something that someone else is already offering, sell something that you already have, or trade something that you have with someone else, "Buy, Sell, Trade" is the right place. If you are looking for something that is not currently being offered and want someone else to make an offer to you, "Wanted" is the right place.

I still think its funny it was my thread folks decided to demolish, rather than the other eight before it in the last month. Thanks folks/self-appointed gripers.

All's well that ends well maybe. {1st I'll admit that I almost posted my want listing in the wrong place too [cheap plug here for those - (1.)WICO keypad in Box OR just the box & (2.) An Atari Lynx Everon Console], but was saved by Jaybirds post}: Anyway - I may have one - I bought an extra when I was getting into playing Meteorites through the Masterplay - I don't even think I've taken the rubber band off it yet that sellers always tightly wrap around the cables - BUT, I did buy it on E-bay, and digitalpress, etc. weren't budging on price. So, keep that in mind if you are interested in it. Feel free to PM though.
