classicgamer74 #1 Posted December 5, 2018 In my latest episode I discuss the Atari 2600, 5200, and 7800 baseball games. I have to say that I felt the 5200 version of RS Baseball has to be the best. I really think that a lot of people didn't give the 5200 a chance. I have recently re-discovered it and I have enjoyed the games for it. I know there were a lot of cosmetic problems with the console and it didn't help that you couldn't play 2600 games on it, but regardless I really enjoyed RS Baseball for it. I didn't discuss the 7800 version of RS Baseball because it was just an abomination. But that's just my opinion and everyone is entitled to have one. Anyways, thanks for the views and please subscribe if you haven't already.
Inky #2 Posted December 5, 2018 (edited) Many people say that not only is 5200 baseball the best of any of the retro systems, but is also much better than many of the baseball titles on current systems.Realsports Baseball is, IMHO one of the killer apps on the 5200 system. It works well with the joystick, even. Edited December 5, 2018 by Inky
atarifan88 #3 Posted December 5, 2018 Wow the 5200 runs apps too?! I thought it just played games?
+Cafeman #4 Posted December 5, 2018 Realsports Baseball 5200 is a fun, well programmed game to this day. The speech was very cool back in the early 80s. Realsports Baseball 2600 , I think it is well programmed too, but it isn't as fun for very long, not as a one player game. The camera angles of the Pete Rose games are quite appealing. I never p,Ahed the games (yet) to see if they are any fun or not. Thanks for the video .

+save2600 #7 Posted December 6, 2018 Home Run's always been a little too "Odyssey2" for my tastes, but I did just play a game of RS Baseball after all these years and found it somewhat enjoyable. Mechanically, it's clunky as hell compared to SuperChallenge Baseball, but a decent baseball sim for the VCS all things considered.

The kids next door had a 5200 in the early 80's and we played Realsports Baseball often. It's one of the best console BB games ever made.

Chuck D. Head #10 Posted December 9, 2018 I would love to try the 5200 version someday. I played the hell out of RS Baseball on the 2600, loved it back then, not so much today. I loved that screaming line drive home run sound. Of all the primitive baseball games, I think Tandy Color Computer Baseball is my favorite, it was surprisingly easy to control, even with the poopy standard non-centering joystick.
