3D Printed Atari 5200 Dual Controller Coupler

Hello all!

 

So, I just recently got into the 5200 scene. In my small collection, I grabbed a copy of Space Dungeon, which is a dual stick game. Knowing there is a coupler out there for the 5200, they are hard to find, or very expensive if you do find one. So, I looked for a 3D printed version and found one on Thingverse. The page says that it's not completely done. I downloaded the files and brought them to a friend with a 3D printer.

 

I just got home and tried it out. While it may not be perfect, it will more than do the job for me, so I thought I'd share with the community. Looks like it needs to be just a hair taller and the sticks fit very snugly, so maybe just a tad wider, but it looks like it'll more than do the job.

As soon as my grandson gets off the Xbox, I'm gonna give this a whirl. I'll post my findings later on this evening. In the meantime, if you're looking for a coupler and have access to a 3D printer, this might be a promising alternative.

Send a message to Caleb ( 8bigwidgets.com ). I have worked with him on a few projects. I am pretty certain he could tweak his design and add the spacing that you are looking for.

I would have no problem making an adapted version that matches your specifications.  Just let me know.  I typically work with black as a color, but I can do other colors as well.
