OIDS with analog control

This is actually not something new, I did it in 2017. But was not thread about it here. I even did not put files on my site from some reason. Probably because I was busy with more important things in life and death.

That's for hard disk, Flash card usage.

For floppy usage - there is ST image file + all files in ZIP dir.

 

You need STE and some analog joystick to be able to play with it. I used some old PC analog one (for PC joystick port), with adapter, so can connect to STE adv. joy port.

Probably works no Falcon too. As I know Atari never made analog joystick for STE enhanced joy, ports.

Other way is via emulation, but none of them supports analog joysticks, as I know. Only my modded Steem 3.2 . If someone wants, I will post it here. Will need of course some USB game controller with analog pad on PC .

Where can I find this mythical PC Joystick-to-Advanced Joyport adapter you speak of?

I made it myself. That's passive adapter, so only connectors and wires.

Everyone can actually figure it out. Just need to look pin layouts of old fashion PC game controller port (not present on newer PCs, of course, now it's all USB) and pin layout of STE adv. joyport.

I updated my OIDS page with versions for play with analog joystick, and there is modded Steem for those who can not live without emulators
