For those of you who aren't familiar with this particular game, I thought it appropriate to give you a glimpse into my nomination, Faxanadu. There are several reviews, so I picked one at random. I don't know if this would work well on the TI, with the lack of browns... but here it is.... a glimpse into one of the most mind-shaping games of my youth.

The top two are Galaga(24) and Zaxxon(18)... really? Yawn. Classics they may be, but there are many other titles on the list that are better than those two. If I *had* to pick between them, Zaxxon would be first. I hope Rasmus is not going to choose strictly based on the numbers.

 

I agree wholeheartedly, but I think it has something to do with what you grew up with. I got my TI as a hand-me-down from my dad at the end of the 80's, when games like Galaga and Zaxxon were already quite dated, and my biggest desire has always been to see something closer the theNES/Sega Master System/C64 games of the era running on the humble TI. I think it's for the same reason that I'm finding it really hard to get into the Spectrum ports as well, they just aren't the type of games I really grew up with.

I just downloaded and tried it out the other day, and you are right, they did an excellent job on that game. It is surprisingly well done and fun.

Rogue dungeon crawler is on the list. Sorry, thought you wrote it wasn't there.

i imagine that all games from colecovision, sega-sg1000 and msx1 are easier to get converted, mostly only needed to be disassembled from z80 and recoded/reassembled to tms9900 (there might be a kind of "rosetta stone" somewhere, or about to be documented)

 

from msx1, i'd love to see Alpharoid, Tensai Rabbian Daifunsen, Bouken Roman, Indian No Bouken, Skooter, Boggy84, Penguin Kun Wars, and etc., running on TI-99/4A!
