Iwantgames:)
Unfortunately I've been unable to find the correct sized idler tyre so far but I found one that's close it changed the speed that the tape deck runs however so it won't actually load original Amstrad tapes. It will however allow me to save typed in programs and then load them as they were saved at this new faster speed. I'll be continuing the search for the correct size but until then I'm happy enough that it boots and I can mess with it
carlsson
Congratulations! How did you get the game in picture loaded then, can you connect an external tape recorder as well (i.e. a PC sound card or similar) or did you have to detach the built-in first? I actually typed it in lol took a couple hours. But I've since found that a Cassette adapter works quite well
Iwantgames:)
A plumbers oring (size #8 from home depot) and a quick tweaking of the read head adjustment and the Amstrad tape drive lives again! Loaded up a original 1986 Rampage cassette

Seob
Need to find me a cpc-464. We had a Schneider version as our first homecomputer. I did find a gx4000 a few years ago and bought a flash card for it. Love that system.
