Spector #878 Posted May 6, 2020 I'm looking at the vast amount of ROM files included in the Collectorvision ROM pack that sells for $75. But there's so many it's hard to know what the general standard is of them. A lot of them seem to have been sold originally as physical carts which suggests they aren't knock offs. I have however played at least one of the games on the list, "Zippy Race", and it was pretty poor. The list can be found here: https://collectorvision.com/shop/colecovision/collectorvision-vault-rom-pack/ For those in the know who have purchased these files, what are the standout conversions/games. Is it worth it?

Is it worth it? I missed out on the club in 2019 and purchased the ROM pack access as a consolation. I did get into the 2020 club this time around. I thought the ROM pack access was well worth it as it was just over $1 a game and supports CollectionVision's efforts to keep this platform alive. That being said, the standouts to me are: Sydney Hunter, Mario Bros, Ripcord, Side Track, Pooyan, Mr. Chin, Moon Patrol, Galaga, Hangon and Elevator Action. So mellow, so cool, and eeeeasy going (good for present times). I’ve gotten past Vegas, but it’s been a while since I’ve played. I think the full CollectorVision family of games is overall amazing. Sadly, there are a few duds, but I totally appreciate CollectorVision’s willingness to publish enthusiast’s creative works! I’m glad they’re in the game of small-time publishing, and I will always support them.
