slydc
Hifolks, I know i don't post here quite often but since we are starting a New Year today, what about sharing information regarding an unknown (but will be now known as today) Magnavox Odyssey clone called the "Videojuel". I won't copy and paste what i posted on my blog so here's the link to read about it: https://odysim.blogspot.com/2019/01/happy-videojuelerr-new-year-everyone.html And happy New Year everyone! =) --- Sly DC ---

pacman000
Never heard of an Odyssey clone. Plenty of Odyssey2 clones tho. Love that shade of blue, & it's still shaped like an old Pizza Hut building. Mind if I copy a pic from your blog to this forum?
Flojomojo
I like the carrying case, kinda. I had a vinyl-and-cardboard-with-a-snap-enclosure case like that for my Matchbox cars. It's jarring to me to see a realistic rifle in a kids' playset like this. I wonder if anyone would be able to transport this thru airport security?
CatPix
It was very common back then. All Pongs I've seen had realistic or semi-realistic guns. At least the European ones... and the Soviet ones Fun fact : the Odyssey gun was made BEFORE the console, for an electronic target game. Made by... Nintendo. Yep. I have one, tho, it's the gun for the German Interton Pong systems, with a standard DIN connector instead of the crazy Odyssey connector. (source of the pic : http://odysim.blogspot.com/2015/09/nintendo-and-magnavox.html ) Real quality stuff even, you really have to "pump" to shoot. One of the coolest Pong It's French. The gun is an almost standard "gun with a rifle butt and additionnal cannon " model, that you can use like a hand gun or a rifle. once assembled : In Soviet Russia, TV shoots YOU ? Well, there is a few clones of the Odyssey(1) like the Telematch de Panoramic, Kanal 34, etc... Mium...(Pizza Hut)...you're making me hungry! LOL!!! And no problem if you want to copy a picture, they all comes from Ricardo Saucedo.

I agree with CatPix as many of Pong consoles had realistic/semi-realistic guns back then. Also, some Coleco Telstar guns like the Telstar Ranger, Telstar Arcade, Telstar Gemini, etc...were made by Nintendo. (source: Geek Vintage web site (http://www.geekvintage.com/coleco-telstar-arcade-hardware.php) So this is weird...the very first Nintendo venture in video games were "guns" (ok..toy guns or light guns) before themselves sold their own Pong consoles.
