Kurt_Woloch
Here are my times for this past week (December 23th through 29th) on classic systems: Arcade: Cavelon - 33 min. Commando - 87min. in 3 sessions Elevator Action - 13 min. Odyssey^2: (I hope I didn't misspell the game names) Kill the attacking aliens (KTAA) - 22 min. UFO! - 4 min. Space Monster (AKA Invaders from space) - 13 min. VIC-20: Seafox - 26 min. in 2 sessions I had this week off from work, and it shows. Although I was busy with Christmas celebrations as well, they didn't take place on all days, so I still managed to sneak in some gaming time. I played some games on the Odyssey^2, mainly spurred by Atari2600land's attempt to port Defender as "Deaf Edna" to the system, which then turned to something else and was rather quickly abandoned. In KTAA, I failed at the level where there are only two big targets left to guard. In Elevator Action and Commando, I reached the 2nd level respectively, and the 3rd one in Cavelon. In Seafox, I managed to complete Mission 2 in both sessions, but Mission 3 is much harder with 2 enemy subs instead of 1 and also having them shoot at you.

carlsson
Thanks for your minutes, I will record them as usual. In case you get any gaming done on Monday and Tuesday (i.e. up to Dec 31), feel free to include those minutes at the beginning of the year. Otherwise you can report those at the end of the short week Jan 1-5 in a week from now, it is not that cruicial except that yearly stats will get slightly skewed.

NES: Dragon Quest I -- 367 minutes I finished out Dragon Quest I with a bit of grinding and taking down the Dragon Lord. SNES: Secret of Mana -- 63 minutes Just doing some leveling. Too brain dead to do any progression.
carlsson
Ok, I don't imagine getting any gaming on New Year's Eve so I'll post what I played for the extended period: Atari 8-bit: Animal Party - 30 min. Spy Hunter - 26 min. Weihnachtsspiel - 5 min. C64: Camelot Warriors - 35 min. Motor Mania - 83 min. PET: Nim - 2 min. Wall-Break (Stefan Modin) - 4 min. VIC-20: Dodgecars - 11 min. Four in a Row (Creative Computing & Stefan Modin) - 8 min. VIC Slang (a.k.a. Ormen VIC) [Pet Benelux] - 3 min. VIC-Flip (Reversi by Jim Dubrouillet & Sean Smith) - 16 min. So the A8 was the ending of the Christmas HSC special and the beginning of the last round for 2019 (which ends in the beginning of 2020). Then I had an attempt at a FB challenge to finish Camelot Warriors on the C64 but after 17 minutes I had only reached like 5-6 screens into the game so I determined I'll not be able to complete the game without cheats and used my AR6 to kill sprite/sprite collisions. Obviously it makes the game multiple times easier but also removes the option to get killed if you made a mistake along the way. While it only took me 5 min 30 sec to complete the game, it took another 18 minutes to find a perfect run. While the C64 was plugged in, I had a go with Motor Mania and set a new personal record: 10336.2 miles! Finally I dug out a bunch of tapes I previously had not checked, a mix of 40 column PET, VIC-20 and a little C64 software. I played a few VIC and PET games as indicated, and archived the stuff I know isn't already preserved elsewhere.

Eltigro
Got in a little time last night. Finally have most everything put away. I’m pretty exhausted, but we’re happy with the new place so far. Jaguar Tempest 2000 - 80 min (Got new composite cables in and they look fabulous. Thought I was getting the svideo cable, but messed up when ordering. Still happy with the improvement. My Jaguar was having some issues with the rf output I think.) Arcade (MAME) Robotron 2048 - 10 min (Played a bit of this after a friend mentioned it on Facebook. So hectic, but fun.) Smash TV - 20 min (And of course you can’t play Robotron and not play Smash TV. Was actually plying this as the new year rolled in, so maybe only count 15 min on it. lol)

Kurt_Woloch
Sorry, I forgot about the "broken" week... just realized that I should still post my times for December 30th and 31st, so here they are... Arcade: Commando - 72 min. Track & Field - 19 min. I played some more Commando and managed to beat the 1st area a few times. In Track & Field I also managed to complete the 1st set of 6 events and got to the 2nd one where the qualifying limits are much harder.

carlsson
Here's the summary for Week 52, running from December 23 - 31. We logged 5603 minutes of eligible play, playing 91 games on a total of 18 systems. Top 10: 1. Dragon Quest (Dragon Warrior) (NES/Famicom) - 367 min. 2. Bugdom! (Mac OS Classic) - 360 min. 3. N64 (133) The year ends with Dragon Quest/Dragon Warrior taking the title again, just ahead of Bugdom! and pres-NES winner Eggomania. Just like last week, the pre-NES list is rounded off with a couple of Pac-Man games, showing that the classic maze game that turns 40 years old (!) on May 22 still is quite popular. The systems list is headed by the Genesis, with a reasonably high turnout of 18 different systems. No new entries to the 1000 or 5000 minute clubs, though of course seasonal stats will be following shortly.
