Hoessi666
Hello! Does anyone know if normal Extension-Cables for the wired Controllers of the Boom-Version work? Player 2 shouldn't be a Problem, but Player 1 has the special Functions for "Menu", "select" etc. on the Stick...
boggis the cat
It would depend on how those functions have been mapped. My assumption would be that they use some ‘impossible’ simultaneous joystick directions: up and down, left and right, up and down and left... If we knew what those are then we could add those button functions to existing joysticks. They could be using a normally unused pin, of course. I don’t know as I only have the ‘Gold’ with the wireless joysticks.
Flojomojo
I doubt you'd hurt anything by hooking up an old 9-pin cable to try it out. Maybe a smart person with a multimeter can test things that way.
boggis the cat
I have done some testing. A standard (straight through) extension cable works fine. The special buttons are derived from simultaneous ‘impossible’ joystick directions as follows: MENU = UP + DOWN SELECT = LEFT + RIGHT REWIND = LEFT + RIGHT + UP START = UP + DOWN + LEFT
Hoessi666
Great! And thanks for testing! I've ordered two Cables as the Cords on the Sticks are a bit short in my opinion...
Hoessi666
Got the Cords today and everything is fine! Special Buttons on Stick 1 work and there's no lagging... So, Standard Cables work with the Flashback 9 Edited January 15, 2019 by Hoessi666
