cbmeeks #1 Posted January 21, 2019 I was 9 years old when I got my first computer. The silver TI-99/4A. I have to admit, I switched to the C64 when I was 12 but I never forgot those thousands of hours cranking out BASIC on the TI and playing games like Munchman. I don't remember the exact date. Just that I was nine. Which, for me, would have been between June 18th, 1982 to June 17th, 1983. Back then, I was probably the only kid (or even adult) that had a computer within 10 square miles (not joking). I lived in a VERY small town. So I had no friends with computers and no BBS's or Internet. :-) Which means magazines would have been my only computer information. That, and a K-Mart that had a few TI games. During this time, I remember a few mags like Compute! Gazette where I would type in long listings of games and save to my cassette. Anyway, I'm rambling. I thought I would start building my magazine collection. More specifically, mags that I would have used when I was between 9-11 years old. I want to relive some of those memories and relive the experience of finding "new" information for my TI. I have a few in that era but they are mostly for Commodore and/or generic like Compute!. I've never seen the 99er magazine until recently so I bought my first issue (Nov 83). So, I'm looking for suggestions on what to collect. Any specific issues that stand out? Anyone have some mags they want to sell? Thanks for reading my ramblings and for any suggestions. :-)
