corrupt graphics, odd flicker

After seeing the status update I decided to start in on the HSC. Yesterday it did this but a power cycle cleared it up so I played a few rounds and submitted a score.

It's worse today and won't go away. There's even a flicker in the blue background of the Select Game Option screen. Any suggestions?

My usual suggestions is to make sure that the power plug is plugged in firmly. That power cord, keep other cords off of it. The VDP and the VRAM needed good 12 volt, and the VRAM needed good 5+ and 5- volt. Power switch, slide it completely. It also another bottleneck in term of power since it wears off and get dirty. Replacing the slide switch with some else should decrease or eliminate power problems.

I brought the Canadian Power Supply since I didn't want to keep using my flakey USA and end up frying my awesome Colecovision. So that fixed most of my power problem. I haven't change the switch so I should do that.

Thanks all!

Power plug was firmly plugged in - first thing I checked.

I moved the power switch on/off a bunch and that seems to have cleared up the problem, so seems likely the switch is dirty and needs to be overhauled. Found this PDF on how to do it. My soldering skills are so-so, but should be good enough to tackle this. I think I have some DeOxit, need to track it down. Doubt I have dielectric grease, so will need to pick up some of that.

That's the excellent pdf guide I followed with one of my CVs and haven't had a problem since.
