mattsoft
HI all - I picked up a nice 4-port 5200 last week (my first 5200 ever) that appears to be in fantastic shape. Quick question about the "clear smoked color" controller cover: is it normal to have swirl patterns in it? Mine has creamy swirl patterns in (on?) the plastic. I wiped it down, so I think they're in the plastic. If this is abnormal, I'll attach a pic for reference. Thanks!

mattsoft
Check it... I've tried cleaning with isopropyl and nothing. Maybe I should try plastic polish and see if it comes out. ?? It doesn't really bother me, just sort of weird looking. The fact that it's sort of symmetrical leads to believe it's due to manufacturing or aging of the plastic. Sort of looks like a tramp stamp on the 5200. rayik
Not normal. Those look like scratches
mattsoft
it's definitely IN the plastic. tried polishing it with Mother's Plastic Finish. It's very shiny now, but has the swirl patterns in the plastic. Weird!
rayik
Scratches on the underside?
mattsoft
Scratches on the underside? no, they are barely visible from the bottom. but if I hold it in the light, I can see the swirls IN the plastic. maybe I should sell it on eBay as super rare manufacturing defect. har har.
